Canine Candle

​When I light a candle, it creates an ambiance. Sometimes I need to relax, sometimes to invigorate. Sometimes I just want my home to smell nice. The problem I found with many candles, is that they are too overpowering and chemical smelling. So together with a good friend in the candle business, I started creating scents that give a soft aura. They are natural, in every aspect. I use cotton wicks, never any metal in them that can set off chemical smoke. The wax is all natural soy and the fragrances are essential oils or fragrance oils, phthalate-free. I always make sure that the oils are fresh and pure. Mixing compatible oils is so important.  If you use an oil that invigorates with an oil that calms, it defeats the purpose.

As I started experimenting with oils, I noticed that certain oils calmed my dog when burning them. I started researching oils that would benefit cats and dogs. Making scent after scent and giving them to pet owners to try, I finally found what I think is a perfect scent for dogs and a separate one for cats. Neither will harm or agitate the other species, however, they are best used for the specific pet. The great thing is that they are beautiful to look at and pleasing to humans!
